The U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission, Denver, has filed a suit against Kmart Corp., charging the company with discriminating against an African-American and a Mexican-American worker. The suit alleges managers and other supervisory employees at a Super Kmart store in Englewood, Colo., made racial and ethnic slurs against the two workers. The EEOC is seeking both compensatory and punitive damages

The suit alleges managers and other supervisory employees at a Super Kmart store in Englewood, Colo., made racial and ethnic slurs against the two workers. The EEOC is seeking both compensatory and punitive damages for the men.

-repurchase program under which the company may acquire up to $1 billion of its common stock. The timing and volume of purchases will depend on market conditions.

Wild Oats Markets, Boulder, Colo., said it has filed a statement with the Security and Exchange Commission to sell 2.5 million shares of common stock. The company said it would use the proceeds from the sale to pay down debt as well as to finance future acquisitions and new store development.
