THE U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Orleans said landlords of stores run by Jitney Jungle Stores of America, Jackson, Miss., do not have to disband the creditors committee they have formed, separate from the chain's creditors committee. The chain's landlords said they formed their own committee to represent their interests during Jitney's bankruptcy. The company filed for Chapter 11 protection last October.
% of weekday meals are prepared in 30 minutes or less. The fastest meal preparers were young adults, working parents and the elderly, while families with children tended to spend the most time getting dinner together. Some kitchen gadgets are also losing favor, as homes with mixers declined from 91% to 81% between 1993 and 1999. On the other hand, the survey said households with electric bread bakers increased by 6% to 28% in the same period.
