Groceryworks.com, the Dallas-based Internet grocery service, has been unable to process customer orders since Nov. 17. Visitors to the site receive a message that reads, "Because of an overwhelming response to our on-line grocery store, we are unable to process your request to use our shopping site right now. We are currently adding even more capacity to handle this extraordinary response and intend for it to be readily available in the next few days." Company representatives did not return phone calls. A customer service representative told SN that the on-line retailer was having problems with its computer server and expected to resume service on Nov. 19. GroceryWorks offers shoppers meat, fresh seafood and produce and national brand grocery products as well as prepared meals from eatZi's Market & Bakery.
