Highlights of the meeting included special recognition to Thomas K. Zaucha, NGA president and chief executive officer, and Tom Wenning, senior vice president and general counsel, for their years of service to the association since its inception;

LAS VEGAS — Members of the National Grocers Association celebrated the quarter-century mark in high style at Caesar's Palace here at their annual convention. Highlights of the meeting included special recognition to Thomas K. Zaucha, NGA president and chief executive officer, and Tom Wenning, senior vice president and general counsel, for their years of service to the association since its inception; and a keynote address by Gen. Colin L. Powell, who commended neighborhood-based retailers “for maintaining [a] sense of community and entrepreneurial spirit.”
