NEW YORK -- The New York City Council here has issued a proclamation recognizing D'Agostino Supermarkets, Larchmont, N.Y., for its fund-raising efforts on behalf of Citymeals-on-Wheels here, a not-for-profit organization that provides hot meals and companionship to the homebound elderly.

Jr., D'Agostino Supermarkets chairman, "We started the 'Round Up' campaign because we felt it was a win-win-win situation.

"First of all, it's a win for D'Agostino because it allows us to take an active role in the community.

"Second, it unites our customers and associates in an effort to deliver meals to elderly homebound neighbors.

"And finally, it is a win for the proud, productive New Yorkers who had contributed to the greatness of the city but now need help.

"What we have created, supported and refined in the past 13 years is a campaign of New Yorkers giving to New Yorkers in their own neighborhoods."
