- Funeral services were held here last week for Stan Silverzweig, 61, an industry consultant who died Jan. 10 after a stroke.

Silverzweig was a co-founder of Culture Strategies, a consultancy based in Huntington Station, N.Y., that developed the retail culture survey -- an employee culture-and-attitude survey -- that led to work with several supermarket clients, including Supervalu, Minneapolis; ShopRite Supermarkets, Elizabeth, N.J.; Brodbeck Enterprises, Platteville, Wis.; and Bashas' Markets, Chandler, Ariz. He also headed Payback Training Systems, Morristown, N.J., which uses computers for interactive employee training; and was a partner with Nick D'Agostino in D'Agostino/Silverzweig Entrepreneurial Institute, New City, N.Y., which consults on family succession.

He is survived by his wife Mary and their two sons and a daughter. He is also survived by three daughters from a previous marriage.

F. Bruce Krysiak, 75

ALBION, N.Y. -- Funeral services were to be held here last week for F. Bruce Krysiak, 75, who died Jan. 11.

Krysiak had been an industry consultant for the last few years, spending a lot of time on a joint venture between the United States and Russia to help establish a complete Russian food distribution system under one roof, including retailing, wholesaling, processing and packaging. At least two Giant Food System units opened in the mid-1990's -- a 100,000-square-foot operation in Vladivostok, near Moscow, and a 60,000-square-foot operation in Nakhodka, a port city 100 miles east of Moscow.

During the 1970's Krysiak was president and chief executive officer of Mayfair Markets, Los Angeles, after holding the same titles earlier in his career at Loblaw, Buffalo, N.Y., and National Tea Co., Chicago, which at the time were both owned by Loblaw Cos., Toronto.

Krysiak is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret; two sons and a daughter; and six grandsons. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the F. Bruce Krysiak Scholarship Fund at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., which benefits students in need of financial assistance who are pursuing degrees in the university's food-industry management program.
