ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — Memorial services were scheduled last week for William E. Olsen, a former president of IGA, who died April 16 after a long illness. Olsen was named president of IGA, the Chicago-based network of independent food retailers, in February 1973, and retained the position until he retired in January 1987. He had previously held positions with the National Livestock & Meat Board and with meat supplier John Morrell & Co., his former wife, Jane Olsen, told SN. He is also survived by four children and five grandchildren. A daughter and brother preceded him in death. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, Skokie, Ill., or Vistas Hospice, Lombard, Ill.
