Edward John "Ned" Maher, the former chairman and chief executive officer of H.C. Boerner, a former food brokerage company in Great Neck, N.Y., and vice president of The Harvey Group, which acquired H.C. Boerner in the 1960s, died March 8. Maher was predeceased by his wife, Lillian. Survivors include four children and four grandchildren. He also served as a U.S. Army captain in World War II, where

Edward John "Ned" Maher, the former chairman and chief executive officer of H.C. Boerner, a former food brokerage company in Great Neck, N.Y., and vice president of The Harvey Group, which acquired H.C. Boerner in the 1960s, died March 8. Maher was predeceased by his wife, Lillian. Survivors include four children and four grandchildren. He also served as a U.S. Army captain in World War II, where he was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.
