OBITUARY: IRWIN SCHWARTZ

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. -- Services were held here last month for Irwin Alfred Schwartz, whose 45 years in the supermarket industry included seven as president of P&C Food Markets, Syracuse, N.Y. Schwartz died at the age of 75 from congestive heart failure. He was president of P&C, which is now a division of Penn Traffic, also based in Syracuse, from 1975 to 1982, according to his daughter, Betsy Schwartz.

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. -- Services were held here last month for Irwin Alfred Schwartz, whose 45 years in the supermarket industry included seven as president of P&C Food Markets, Syracuse, N.Y. Schwartz died at the age of 75 from congestive heart failure. He was president of P&C, which is now a division of Penn Traffic, also based in Syracuse, from 1975 to 1982, according to his daughter, Betsy Schwartz. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; another daughter, Alison Rothstein; two sons, Keith and Ross; a brother, Jerry; and five grandchildren.
