ETOBICOKE, Ontario -- Oshawa Group said it plans to build one and possibly two distribution centers in Toronto in the next 16 months while expanding facilities in Calgary and Montreal as part of a major restructuring of its food division -- a project that will result in a fourth-quarter net charge of approximately $13.6 million U.S.

Oshawa said the restructuring was in progress prior to the announcement that Empire Co., Stellarton, Nova Scotia, would buy controlling interest in Oshawa and Empire has consented to the restructuring. That deal is scheduled to be completed by mid-December, Oshawa said.
