SN's undercover reporter witnessed several out-of-stock instances on random visits to supermarkets across the country in late March. Among the sightings were (pictured from left to right) an almost completely bare setting at a Pathmark in New York, an almost depleted Jello setting in a Super K-mart in Ohio, a sparse canned vegetable shelf in a Ralphs in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, and a cereal shelf right on the brink of being out of stock in a Tops, also in Ohio.
