NEWARK, Del. -- The Produce for Better Health foundation here has begun releasing materials for its second major themed retail promotion, "Produce Playground: Start Your Kids on the Right Equipment," said foundation officials.

Ohio; Big Y Foods, Springfield, Mass.; Dierbergs Markets, Chesterfield, Mo.; Schnuck Markets, St. Louis; and Town & Country Supermarkets, owned by Strack & Van Til Supermarkets, Schererville, Ind.

All promotion materials are part of the campaign's Destination Stop program, a merchandising package consisting of a marquee, posters, brochures, point-of-sale cards, recipes, in-store events and advertising designed to draw shoppers into the produce section at supermarkets.

The materials for the new promotion feature lively graphics of children playing on playground equipment made out of fruits and vegetables. They emphasize fun ways for parents to encourage children to eat five fruits and vegetables a day.

Retailers get a poster, a brochure, two point-of-sale cards with different messages on each side, a 5 a Day recipe booklet, a kids' activity book and a set of kids' stickers.

Materials are developed by Try-Foods International, Apopka, Fla., PBH's official 5 a Day core retail distributor.
