Kent Bolander, candy merchandiser at Thrifty Foods, Burlington, Wash., said Brach's has developed a line of jelly beans with Smuckers, a chocolate-covered raisin product with Sunmaid, a chocolate-covered peanut in conjunction with Planters and a chocolate-covered almond tied to Blue Diamond almonds.

In addition, leading candy manufacturers are moving into the pegged market with hanging versions of existing products and several recent introductions.

For example, Hershey's has come out with TasteTations and Sweet Escapes, retailers told SN.
