P&G said the elimination of the product line, which will be completed by June 1995, will have no impact on its earnings. It also expects to incur a minimal impact on employment levels at its cosmetics and fragrances operation based in Hunt Valley, Md.

P&G acquired Clarion, which was geared toward women in their 30s and up, in 1989 as part of Noxell Corp., whose primary cosmetics brand was Cover Girl. With Clarion eliminated, P&G said, it will be able to fully focus on its more successful Max Factor International and Cover Girl brands.
