DES MOINES, Iowa -- The National Pork Producers Council here named Alan Tank as chief executive officer of the organization, effective March 1. Tank succeeds Larry Graham who had previously announced his resignation.

Tank was a field director for the Iowa Pork Producers Association in the early 1980s. He later served on the staff of Iowa Congressman Jim Leach, and after that, the Washington staff of the National Corn Growers Association. Prior to joining the NPPC in 1991, he was a partner/broker for a commercial trading firm in Des Moines, Iowa.
