TIGARD, Ore. -- Industry leaders gathered here last week to share ideas at Portland State University Food Industry Leadership Center's 10th annual Executive Forum. A presentation by the Network of Executive Women, called "The Power of Your Presence," kicked things off. It was followed by an FILC reception and silent auction. At a dinner that evening, FILC presented Bob Miller, chairman, Rite Aid, Camp Hill, Pa., and former chairman and chief executive officer, Fred Meyer, with the Roger Ahlbrandt Award for lifetime achievement in the food industry. "He's always been a pillar of consistency for doing what's right for his company and its associates," said Jim Donald, CEO, Starbucks North America, in presenting the award.
