ATLANTA -- The focus may have been on productivity, but that didn't stop attend-ees of the 2002 Food Industry Productivity Convention & Exposition held here from enjoying a night out at the Champions sports bar at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, where they go to meet ex-Chicago Bear William "The Refrigerator" Perry. Back at the show, attendees were able to visit a wide array of conference sessions, covering everything from voice recognition technology -- a hot topic at the show -- to backhauling to transportation systems. This was the last Productivity show to be co-sponsored by Food Distributors International prior to its merger in January with the Food Marketing Institute, another co-sponsor. The conference ran from Oct. 20-23.
