Michael J. Fox Helps 'Spin' Two-Volume DVD Set
J. Fox -- His All Time Favorites Volume 1 & Volume 2," produced by DreamWorks Home Entertainment here, the sitcom star adds a heartfelt touch to the collection from the hit comedy series by personally selecting each episode. Fox introduces each of the 22 episodes featured on this double-disc set, which will roll out Aug. 26. Additionally, Fox and his "Spin City" co-stars will offer six public service announcements providing important information on the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The DVD set's marketing efforts include a $5.00 mail-in rebate offer available to consumers with the purchase of any two eligible DVD titles featuring Fox, including "Greedy," "For Love or Money," "Secret of My Success" and the "Back to the Future Trilogy." The special offer expires Feb. 28, 2004.
The Candle Company Bears Fruit
GUILFORD, Conn. -- The Candle Co. here recently rolled out porcelain collectible fruit candles stored on authentic wooden fruit cart displays in stores like Winn-Dixie and Fry's, hoping to burn up candle sales. The freestanding hand-crafted wooden displays are designed to hold 60 life-size and 20 jumbo-size candles, occupying only 3.5 square feet of floor space. Promotional components will include a "buy one, get one" candle offer, said Marie Berry, director of marketing, along with the rollout of 24 new scents like peach, mango and cantaloupe, "to keep the assortments fresh," she said. The life-size fruit candles, which are sold in scents like apple, pear and orange, retail for $5.99. The jumbo-sized candles are priced around $12.99.
