CELLULAR LIFELINE

The stakes of poor cell phone service just got higher. "Cellular," from New Line Home Entertainment here, hits retail shelves on Jan. 18, with an order deadline of Dec. 14. The release will be supported by an advertising campaign targeting young adults. The campaign will include national print advertisements in magazines and spots on major networks and cable television. Advertisements will generate more than 200 million consumer impressions. In "Cellular," Kim Basinger stars as a kidnapped woman whose wrong number connection to a stranger's cell phone becomes her lifeline. William H. Macy, Jason Statham and Chris Evans also star in the movie. The "Platinum Series" title will be priced for rental on VHS, while the sell-through DVD will have a suggested retail price of $27.95.

COOL CURE

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Flu and cold sufferers can chill out this winter with a new product from McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals, makers of Tylenol acetaminophen. Tylenol Cold & Flu with Cool Burst debuts this season, supported by a marketing campaign focused on Tylenol's history and consumer trends that favor "cooling" experiences and long-lasting, fast relief. The campaign will include national television advertising, and targeted radio and print spots, as well as online sponsorship, national freestanding insert drops, in-store merchandising and consumer sampling. The product comes in four formulas: Tylenol Severe Cold & Flu Daytime, Tylenol Severe Cold & Flu Nighttime, Tylenol Cough & Sore Throat Daytime, and Tylenol Cough & Sore Throat Nighttime. The suggested retail price for the liquid treatments is $5.99.

TWICE IN A MILLION

CENTURY CITY, Calif. -- Fox Home Entertainment here taps old stores of comedy riches this fall with its re-release of the classic "How to Steal a Million." The title will be available for the first time on DVD. The movie, starring Audrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole, is the latest addition to Fox's Studio Classics line. The release will be supported by a national print advertising campaign and a grassroots publicity and promotion campaign. It will also be included on the dedicated Studio Classics Web site, which features synopses, cast and award information. Prebook for the title is Nov. 10, and it streets on Dec. 7. Suggested retail price is $14.98.
