'PACIFIER' COMES HOME
Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release the box-office hit "The Pacifier" June 28 on DVD and VHS. The family comedy, starring Vin Diesel of "The Chronicles of Riddick" and "The Fast and the Furious" brought in more than $100 million at the box office. "The Pacifier" tells the story of a Navy SEAL and his mission to protect a family with five out-of-control kids. The national marketing campaign for the movie's release will include television, print, radio, online and in-theater advertising that will reach 90% of households. Bonus material on the DVD includes bloopers, deleted scenes and the director's audio commentary. Prebook for the movie is May 17. The suggested retail price is $29.99 for both DVD and VHS.
KIRBY'S NEW CAREER
NEW YORK -- Nintendo's popular video game hero, Kirby, wants to be in pictures. The first Kirby movie, "Kirby: Fright to the Finish-The Movie," will street June 13 from 4Kids Entertainment Home Video here. The release coincides with the debut of a new Kirby game, "Kirby: Canvas Curse." Bonus material on the DVD includes a bonus Kirby episode, "Hour of the WolfWrath," and two music videos featuring the video game character. Prebook for the movie is May 10. The suggested retail price is $14.98 on DVD and $9.98 on VHS.
ELECTRA-FYING AUCTION
BOSTON -- To spread the word about its new line of body spray for young men, TAG Fragrance Co. is auctioning off a date with actress and model Carmen Electra on eBay. The auction will take place April 27 through May 7, and males ages 15 to 20 are eligible. Profits from the auction will raise funds to fight prostate cancer. The spray is available in four scents, each named after moments in men's social lives, including Lucky Day, First Move, Midnight and After Hours. The suggested retail price is $4.49.
