tainment will release "Rubbadubbers," the Nick Jr. preschool series, on video Jan. 27 with a multi-platform campaign supporting the line. Beginning in late January, there will be a merchandising program that starts with the debut title, "Here Come the Rubbadubbers," which will be refreshed in mid-March with the second release in the series, "Tubb's Pirate Treasure." There will be a print and online advertising campaign, which will include a branded promotional sweepstakes in Parents and Child magazines. A $2-off coupon will be included with the VHS and DVD versions of the first Rubbadubbers title, good toward the purchase of the second release. Stores will also receive floor and counter displays in a variety of configurations. The videos have a suggested retail price of $12.99 for VHS and $16.99 for DVD.

CARE BEARS RETURN

TORONTO -- Madacy Kids here will release a Care Bears licensed series of music CDs supported by a varied promotional campaign next month. The campaign will include: national publicity; customer merchandising materials, including counter-pack displays, bin divider cards, clip-strips and in-store play copies; and consumer music premiums with other licensed Care Bears products that promote the CD. The initial release, "Meet the Care Bears," is a collection of 12 original and traditional songs. The suggested retail price is $5.98.

SUAVE HAIR ACCESSORIES

NEW YORK -- Suave here, a brand of Unilever, has joined forces with Almar, a New York-based hair accessories company, to launch a line of Suave brand hair accessories. As part of a five-year licensing deal covering the United States and Canada, the line will include elastics, combs, clips, barrettes, headbands, brushes and mirrors. The full line includes about 500 items for men, women and children. "We view the relationship between Suave and Almar as an ideal combination of a strong brand and quality product that will be meaningful and attractive to a large number of consumers," said Ralph Blessing, Suave's brand development director.
