HILARIOUS HAIR

PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Female comics took center stage at Hair Removal Monologues, a launch event held for the Veet Bladeless Razor Hair Removal Kit. The performance was held in early April at the comedy club Caroline's on Broadway. Four female comics developed and performed original comedy routines about the perils of hair removal. In addition to the comedy event, Veet will do a promotional tie-in with VH1 in May and June, as well as online coupons, in-store displays, demo handouts and online promotions for a consumer challenge to show that Veet will last twice as long as shaving. The brand is also doing print advertising beginning this month and running through August, focusing on the Bladeless Razor Kit and Veet's Express Roll-On Gel Wax. Print ads will run in beauty, teen and entertainment magazines. Television ads began in April for the Bladeless Razor Kit. The kit has a suggested retail price of $7.99.

HEAVEN SENT

ATLANTA -- There are two new guardian angels on the block, David and Larry, whose mission is to help families respond to bathroom emergencies. Angel Soft toilet paper, a Georgia-Pacific brand, introduced the new Bathroom Angels earlier this year as spokesmen for the toilet paper brand. The campaign is part of a broader company effort to market the brand's new position as "soft, but not too soft." As part of the campaign, David and Larry have appeared in television ads, in a freestanding insert in April, and at public relations events, including the St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City. At the parade, the angels handed out coupons and halos. Additional appearances of the angels will occur throughout the year.
