NEW YORK -- Retailers, manufacturers, food brokers and consumers in the metropolitan area here have had an opportunity to support four area food banks this month through a series of multimedia promotions.
More than 3.5 million freestanding inserts that were distributed in newspapers Nov. 6 throughout New York, New Jersey and surrounding areas featuring coupons from manufacturers who will donate part of the proceeds to local food banks.
· Advertising on shopping carts and in-store radio for four weeks, which began Nov. 7 at more than 500 supermarkets, plus on Actmedia Aislevision in more than 125 stores, to identify participating brands and build in-store awareness of the program.
· Tear-off cards worth $1 each at the checkstands that enable consumers to donate money when they pay for their orders.
· Feature ads, point-of-sale materials and in-store displays at retail to tie in with the FSI and other media activities.
