COMPTON, Calif. -- Ralphs Grocery Co. here reported total and same-store sales gains for the 36 weeks ended Oct. 6.
$103.3 million in the 36 weeks, compared with a $50.2 million loss a year ago.
The company previously had reported results for the 12-week third quarter, which saw sales rise 1.2% to $1.2 billion and operating income rise 634% to $44.8 million. Same-store sales rose 1.5% for the quarter -- not 1.4% as previously reported, the company noted. Ralphs had a net loss of $11.9 million for the quarter, compared with a loss of $49.8 million a year ago. The chain reported a loss of $65.4 million for the year to date, compared with a loss of $178.2 million a year ago.
