ainment Corp. here launched a national advertising campaign with the theme "Welcome to Hollywood" last month. The company's Hollywood Video chain of specialty stores is the second largest in the country after Blockbuster.

For the campaign, nine television and eight radio commercials will be rotated in major U.S. markets, said Jennifer Brauer, senior director of marketing and advertising. The TV spots feature employees filmed in Hollywood Video stores. Radio ads provide 60-second humorous summaries of movie plots. The commercials also highlight new releases, guarantee policies, promotions and the company's promise to give customers "star treatment."

West Coast Begins TV Ad Campaign

LANGHORNE, Pa. -- West Coast Entertainment here began its first major television advertising campaign earlier this month. Two commercials were to be shown in key West Coast Video markets, such as Philadelphia, Boston, the New York metropolitan area, Louisville, Ky., Washington, D.C., Dayton and Columbus, Ohio, and York, Lancaster and Harrisburg, Pa.

The spots show dangerous outdoor activities. Voice over says: "Need a new release -- West Coast Video." West Coast is among the top five video rental chains, with 505 stores that it owns or franchises.

ITA Endorses Audiobook Month

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The International Recording Media Association here has endorsed the Audio Publishers Association's national Audiobook Month campaign, which is running this month. The APA is based in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Meanwhile, APA presented its third annual Audie Awards in 23 categories at a ceremony last month. The awards honor the best audio books released between Jan. 1 and Nov. 30 of last year.

Winner in the Fiction, Abridged category was "God's Little Acre" by Erskine Caldwell, read by Burt Reynolds. In the Fiction, Unabridged category, the winner was "The Breaker" by Kit Denton, read by Terence Donovan.
