Schroeder, currently the vice president of produce and floral for Stater Bros. Markets, Colton, Calif., will serve a term of one year. He last served in this capacity in 1994.

California, as part of the nationwide effort to promote increased consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables; and for two years served as president of the Produce for Better Health Foundation, Wilmington, Del., which oversees the program.
