PHOENIX -- Like the mythical bird this city is named after, produce industry professionals gathered here Feb. 26-28 to rise to the latest challenges facing their industry, such as third-party audits, retail trade practices and consolidation. The well-attended convention of the United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association, Alexandria, Va., was not without its lighter moments, including an Opening Night Suppliers Party on the terrace of the Phoenix Civic Center.
