SN has begun soliciting nominations for its annual Retail Excellence Award.
Criteria include the following areas:
- Pursues innovative strategies that set it apart from the competition in its marketing areas.
- Shows deep understand of its customer base as demonstrated by its marketing and merchandising approaches.
- Has a positive impact on the food industry by developing new solutions for challenges.
- Can be described as proactive and a leader.
Last year's winner was H.E. Butt Grocery Co., San Antonio, Texas.
Nominations can be submitted through SN's Web site, www.supermarketnews.com, or by requesting a form by calling SN at (212) 630-3770. The deadline is July 30.
SN will present a profile on the winner on Oct. 18. The award will be presented during the 2004 Executive Forum of the Food Industry Leadership Center of Portland (Ore.) State University, Oct. 25 to 26.
