STAMFORD, Conn. -- The strongest corporate brands in the pharmaceutical industry are consumer product companies like Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble and 3M -- not pharmaceutical giants like Pfizer, Eli Lilly and Merck, according to a new study from Corporate Branding, a global brand strategy and communications firm.

ASF Group, Nestle and Eli Lilly & Co., respectively. Brands were rated on a list of 24 attributes, including investment potential, commitment to research and development and clarity of vision.
