SUPER FOOD SERVICES LOGS INCREASES IN ITS NET INCOME

DAYTON, Ohio -- Super Food Services here reported earnings gains of 7% in the third quarter and 11% in the 36 weeks ended May 4.

rlier. For the 36 weeks, net income was $6.85 million, or 62 cents a share, vs. $6.17 million, or 56 cents a share, in the prior-year period.

The wholesaler's third-quarter sales dipped 0.5% to $259.9 million from $261.3 million a year ago. Sales in the 36 weeks climbed 3% to $815.5 million from $792.4 million a year before.
