NEW YORK - Two business trade press associations recognized Supermarket News, a publication of Fairchild Publications, owned by CondT Nast, for news coverage and cover design. The American Society of Business Publication Editors awarded SN an "Azbee" award for best news analysis for its cover story, "Albertsons Mulls Endgame Plan," published on Sept. 12, 2005. The story examined the $40 billion retailer's riveting decision to seek strategic alternatives, including a possible sale of the company. Separately, Trade Association and Business Publications International named Whole Health, a supplement to SN, a "Tabbie" global award winner for the Winter 2005 cover design, "Making A Splash." The cover, based on an exclusive Whole Health industry survey, was designed to capture the potential of the whole health movement in traditional supermarkets.
