MINNEAPOLIS -- Supervalu here said last week it has joined the WorldWide Retail Exchange, a retail-focused business-to-business exchange whose members include Albertson's, Ahold, Delhaize, Safeway, Target and many others.

Five other companies also joined the WWRE last week, according to Ahold, a founding member. They are Dairy Farm International, Hong Kong; Dansk Supermarket, Denmark; Rite Aid Corp., Camp Hill, Pa., and Safeway plc, United Kingdom.

Also last week, the WWRE said its has selection as its technology partners the e-business alliance of IBM, i2Technologies and Ariba. The three companies said in March that they had formed a strategic alliance to create broad, end-to-end solutions for business-to-business e-commerce.
