SUPERVALU SHIFTS EXECUTIVES IN REGIONAL REASSIGNMENTS

MINNEAPOLIS -- Supervalu here has completed a series of regional management changes related to the realignment of the company under its previously disclosed Supervalu Advantage project.

Sandy Holmes was named vice president, finance. Holmes joined the company in 1987.

Gary Gionnette was named vice president, category management. Gionnette also joined the company in 1987.

Bill Buckley was named vice president, real estate. Buckley joined Supervalu in 1977.

Frank Hughes was named vice president, human resources. Hughes joined the company in 1976.

All four report to Joel Raffenbeul, president of the region.

In the new Southeast region, which includes the Lewis Grocer (Indianola, Miss.), Quincy, Fla., and Southeast (Anniston, Ala., and Atlanta) divisions:

Jim Fenzel was named vice president, category management. Fenzel joined the company in 1992.

Bruce Brandfon was named vice president, marketing/affiliations. Brandfon joined Supervalu in 1993.

Marion Towery was named vice president, marketing. Towery joined the company in 1972.

Gerry Adams was named vice president, real estate. Adams joined the company in 1984.

Ben Gaston was named vice president, human resources. Gaston joined Supervalu in 1981.

All five report to Ted Crouse, president of the region.

In the new Northern region, which includes the Bismarck and Fargo, N.D., Des Moines, Iowa, and Minneapolis divisions:

Len Slade was named executive vice president, marketing. Slade joined the company in 1983.

Warren Decker was named vice president, finance. Decker joined Supervalu in 1967.

Larry Langsweirdt was named vice president, category management. Langsweirdt joined the company in 1979.

Deb Carlson was named vice president, real estate. Carlson joined the company in 1980.

Jim Showalter was named vice president, human resources. Showalter joined the company in 1984.

All five report to Gary Zimmerman, president of the region.

In the new Northeast region, which includes the Mid-Atlantic (Maryland and Reading, Pa.), Pittsburgh and Milton, W.Va. divisions:

John Domino was named vice president, real estate. He will also continue his current responsibilities for the development of the Keene, N.H., Sweet Life (Suffield, Conn.) and Maine divisions.

Domino joined the company in 1993. He reports to James Campbell, corporate vice president of market development.

In the new Northwest region, which includes the Denver, Ryans (Billings, Mont.) Spokane and Tacoma, Wash., divisions:

Jim Begler was named executive vice president, marketing. Begler joined the company in 1987.

Karen Borman was named vice president, finance. Borman joined Supervalu in 1982.

John Aune was named vice president, category management. Aune joined the company in 1977.

Tim Hansen was named vice president, real estate. Hansen joined Supervalu in 1979.

Janice Weinberg was named vice president, human resources. She has been with the company for more than 20 years. All five report to Mike Jackson, president of the region.

In the new Midwest region, which includes the Great Lakes (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.), JM Jones (Champaign, Ill.), St. Louis and Scott City, Mo., divisions:

Janel Haugarth was named vice president, finance. Haugarth joined Supervalu in 1977.

Mark Anderson was named vice president, category management. Anderson joined the company in 1981.

Tom Johnson was named vice president, real estate. Johnson joined the company in 1983.

Bob Samer was named vice president, human resources. Samer joined the company in 1960.

All four report to O'Neill McDonald, president of the region.
