SWIFT & CO. MAKING NAME CHANGES

GREELEY, Colo. -- In one of its first major moves since becoming an independent entity last year, Swift & Co. announced it is replacing the Armour brand label of beef and pork products with an updated Swift Premium line that features new packaging and products. The new Swift Premium portfolio of products includes: Guaranteed Tender Pork, Seasoned Pork and Beef, Classic Beef and Black Angus Beef. Swift & Co. will promote the new line with a variety of marketing initiatives and plans to introduce additional varieties of product in the next year, officials said. Swift became an independent company after it was sold by ConAgra following a massive ground beef recall last year. Swift officials most recently unveiled a new tagline and customer promise -- "A Fresh Approach To Meat" -- which includes processing innovations, higher-quality products and improved safety procedures.
