MINNEAPOLIS -- Target Stores here said last week it will open six additional stores on Oct. 14.

The openings account for a total of 5.3 million square feet of new retail space, according to the company.
Two SuperTargets have been added to October's roster of openings, one in Huntsville, Ala., and the other in Orlando, Fla. The Orlando store had previously been scheduled to open July 29.
Target also announced last week several delayed openings. The company said the Target store scheduled to open July 29 in Wachtung, N.J., as well as the Targets scheduled to open Oct. 14 in Monterey Park, Calif., and Ithaca, N.Y., will open at later dates that have not yet been determined.
