LOS ANGELES -- Grocers Specialty Co., a division of Unified Western Grocers here, said it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Central Food Sales, Renton, Wash., in a deal expected to close within 60 days.

Central Food -- which anticipates sales of more than $3 million this year -- supplies specialty-food products primarily to retailers in Washington and Oregon, with additional customers in Alaska, Idaho and Montana. It is the exclusive distributor of several kosher lines, including Manischewitz, Rokeach, Kedem and Best, in the Pacific Northwest.
