ALTUS, Okla. -- United Supermarkets of Oklahoma here plans to open its first auto fuel center this month or next at its Elk City store.

A kiosk selling convenience-type items will be part of the fueling center, which will contain eight filling stations, said Eddy Patterson, chief executive officer of National Environmental Service Co., Tulsa, Okla., a supplier of assorted services for the petroleum industry from installation and maintenance of fuel systems to environmental services.
He said United's fuel centers will offer a vacuum cleaning system at each filling aisle. Arkansas Valley Distributing will supply fuel for United Supermarkets filling stations.
