KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture has formally approved the pork process verification program developed by Farmland Industries for its "America's Best Pork" program. The USDA Process Verified designation was approved after Farmland developed a 15-point program allowing for 100% traceability of pork products produced under the ABP program and sold under the Farmland name, according to company officials. Verification requires specific procedures to be used and documented during production and processing.
