WESTBURY, N.Y. - Wal-Mart Stores, Bentonville, Ark., has halted the development of a Sam's Club and Wal-Mart store here on Long Island. Company spokesman Trey Baker said construction costs for the combination site were "just too high, so we canceled the project."
