Waldbaum's Taps Senior VP
Waldbaum's here -- the 100-unit division of A&P, Montvale, N.J. -- has named Paul Margarites senior vice president of sales and merchandising.
He succeeds Gary Philbin, who has left the company.
Margarites has been with A&P/Food Emporium for 15 years. With an extensive background in store operations and perishables, he had held executive positions with Food Emporium before that company was acquired by A&P in 1986. Most recently, he was corporate vice president of deli-bakery sales and merchandising for A&P. In his new post, Margarites reports to Dave Smithies, president of Waldbaum's.
ConAgra Poultry Adds VP Slot
DULUTH, Ga. -- ConAgra Poultry Co. has named Gene McDonald to the new position of vice president of sales for further-processed poultry.
His responsibilities include sales to supermarkets as well as to food-service chains and institutional accounts. Prior to joining ConAgra Poultry, McDonald was senior vice president and general manager at McCarty Foods, Jackson, Miss. He was with that company for 11 years.
