SUNBURY, Pa. -- Weis Markets here last week said same-store sales grew by 3.1% in the 13-week third quarter ended Sept. 25, marking 13 straight quarters of same-store sales gains. ters, Weis said net income was up 4.1%, to $42.1 million, on a 2.6% gain in sales, to $1.56 billion. The company, which operates 158 supermarkets in six Mid-Atlantic states, attributed the sales gains in part to strong results from its perishables departments.
