SUNBURY, Pa. -- Weis Markets here signed a letter of intent last week to purchase King's Supermarkets, a six-unit operator based in Hamburg, Pa. The companies didn't disclose terms. King's has plans to build additional units in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley area. Weis operates about 142 stores with annual sales of $1.3 billion. King's annual volume is about $50 million.
