DALLAS - Roy White, the longtime vice president of education for GMDC, Colorado Springs, who has been in charge of the association's Educational Foundation, has resigned, it was announced during the group's Health and Beauty Care Marketing Conference here last week. No successor has been named. White will become vice president, sales, of the Food Institute, Elmwood Park, N.J. White had been with GMDC for nine years and was involved with the Educational Foundation from its inception in 1993 as an outside contractor. "For many years, Roy White has been a tremendous asset for the GMDC Educational Foundation and has played a key role in providing valuable educational content to the membership of GMDC. He will be sorely missed," said Larry Ishii, chairman of the Foundation's board of directors, and general manager, GM/HBC, Unified Western Grocers, Commerce, Calif. "When Roy joined GMDC in 1997, we were struggling with the direction of the Educational Foundation, and now, as he moves on to a new endeavor, he leaves us with a stronger, more visible presence for the Foundation and GMDC," said David McConnell, president and chief executive officer of the association.
