For the 13-week quarter net income was $836,000, compared with a loss a year ago, while sales rose 111% to $30 million and same-store sales climbed 3.8%.
The company said it attributed the sales increases to the opening of seven new stores; the acquisition of 13 stores, and the inclusion of a full year of sales for five stores that opened in 1995.
Results reflect improved operating performance of maturing new stores and the acquisition of 13 stores.
