Whole Foods caters to home brewers

The Whole Foods Market Brewing Co. is launching a series of free home brew classes.

The brewery, which operates on the site of Whole Foods’ new Houston store, will begin the three-part series Feb. 19 with a class for first-timers. Topics will include equipment needed and brewing and cleaning procedures.

Intermediate and advanced classes will be held March 19 and April 16, respectively.

The series is being offered in partnership with DeFalco’s home wine and beer supplies, also in Houston. DeFalco’s will assist with equipment, ingredient and procedure recommendations.

“WFMBC brewers are there to help with tips and tricks of the trade,” Whole Foods states in promotional materials. Registration is required.

As reported, the Austin, Texas-based chain opened the brewery in November. Another on-site microbewery is located in San Jose, Calif.
