After M&A News, Albertson's Facebook Response On the Mark While Fresh & Easy Stays Silent

Perhaps Albertson's LLC learned from Harris Teeter’s disappointing Facebook response to comments about its sale to Kroger Co. earlier this year.

Though comments on a Facebook post about Albertson's acquisition of The United Family were largely negative, the retailer took the time to craft individual replies and sought to reassure disgruntled fans that the United stores would not change.

Meanwhile, a post on Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market’s Facebook page about its impending sale to Yucaipa Cos. and plans to close unsold stores elicited nearly 700 comments but no replies from the retailer. (Click on "Comments" in the Facebook post below to see what fans have been saying.)

Since news first broke of Tesco’s plans to abandon its U.S. venture, Fresh & Easy has been vocal in assuring customers that stores would remain open, so it is a bit of a surprise that the retailer has remained silent on fans’ comments and queries.
