Unlike many food trade shows, the Natural Products Expos (East, in this case) operate pretty busy bookshops. Titles range from the technical (implementing green business practices) to the personal (cookbooks). Many of the authors make appearances here and attendees purchase books in advance of the show so they can have them signed.
What's interesting about this is the breadth and width of the passions here. One author writes books around a natural diet she discovered that has allowed her to stay cancer-free; others write up a treatise on the merits of paper vs. plastic.
It just goes to show you how many moving parts go into health and wellness, and why it's important for retailers to stay atop trends, ideas and public opinion. We live and work in a fast-changing business, and visiting bookstores like this one here at Expo East is a good first stop.
