This year’s United Fresh Show in Chicago is jammed packed with events and education sessions.

One session that will be particularly interesting for retailers attending the conference is Publix CEO Ed Crenshaw’s keynote address on Wednesday, June 11 at 8am. Crenshaw is slated to “offer strategies for success” based on his 40 years at Publix and past role as chairman of the Food Marketing Institute.

There will be several Learning Center talks on the trade show floor centered such topics as food safety, online sales and the annual roundtable by the United Fresh Produce Manager Award winners with tips and tricks on how to sale produce directly to consumers.

United Fresh will continue its Friday “post show”  Retail Produce Marketing & Merchandising Conference where several industry experts will discuss aspects of branding in produce. The lunch speaker will be Raffaele Piarulli, the general manager at Eataly Chicago, who will will talk about branding and consumer experience at Eataly.

The expo floor will have 340 exhibitors, a 30% increase from last year, according to John Toner, the association’s VP of convention and industry relations.

The United Fresh is collocated with the FMI Connect show at the McCormick Place convention center.
