Mark Hamstra is the editor of the Retail/Financial section of Supermarket News covering mergers and acquisitions, quarterly earnings reports, executive changes and other significant events and trends in food retailing. Mark joined SN in 2001 as the editor of the Nonfoods section, and he became the editor of the Retail/Financial section in 2002. Prior to joining SN, he had covered the restaurant industry, the drug store industry and the direct marketing industry for other weekly B2B magazines, and — what seems like a long, long time ago — he covered high school and college sports for a small daily newspaper in Colorado.
