SAN ANTONIO — Matt and Ted Lee, cookbook authors and hosts of The Cooking Channel’s “Unique Eats,” are teaching H-E-B’s Central Market shoppers about Southern cooking.
The duo is making the rounds this week at the Central Market Cooking School. They appeared Tuesday, May 14, in Dallas; and Wednesday in San Antonio. They are scheduled to appear tonight in Austin North Lamar; tomorrow in Houston.
“They’ll introduce guests to the culinary treasures and traditions of Charleston, South Carolina, one of the country’s hottest food destinations,” Central Market writes in promotional materials. “Hear the stories behind the dishes served at southern dinner tables at home and in acclaimed restaurants.”
The menu includes a cheese spread; bacon Brussels sprouts; a skillet asparagus with grapefruit; shrimp & grits and a strawberry and black pepper syllabub.
Each class costs $80. Attendees receive a copy of “The Lee Bros. Charleston Kitchen.”
The Lees are also founders of the Lee Bros. Boiled Peanuts Catalogue.
